I think all journalists should disclose their political affliations so the reader of their work can factor in the bias of their articles. Too often, journalists claim to be neutral when in fact s/he is bias towards a party, usually liberals (I'm Conservative. There i said it). Your piece despite efforts to stay neutral definitely show a liberal bias and I know you from your other work. You do not know how Conservative minds think, and until you do, you can not accurately describe how a Conservative feels about political issues.
